Targets

Goals indicate the achievements that the parents would like their child to achieve. This is discussed and planned with the help of teachers and professionals. It is important that realistic goals are set so that the child will be able to achieve them. Areas such as reading, mathematics, language skills, behaviour, social and cognitive development are taken into consideration.

Setting Targets
Tracking Progress

To determine the effectiveness of the educational program on the child’s individual needs, data collection is an essential process in the IEP. The support assistant would add comments and remarks on the IEP regularly, these comments will then be discussed during the review meeting. This data collection will clearly indicate where the child is improving and where the child is finding difficulty. It will also help to set goals and identify the specific needs of the child for the future.
