Guideline 6: Provide options for executive functions
Students express themselves differently, hence, they should be offered different options to express themselves and show actions.
It is essential that the learner is not only provided with a tool but provided the necessary support to use it effectively. Learners should be provided with the chance to make use of physical manipulative such as blocks and 3D shapes, make use of alternative keyboards and also spell checkers.
Teachers should offer opportunities to make use of alternate media such as drawing, music, film, art, design and speech. They should also provide different strategies for problem solving and differentiated feedback.
Learners should be provided with goals, objectives and schedules which are set in a visible place.
