Affective

The Why of Learning

This links to the third principle of UDL which focuses on the motivation and interests of the student.

The affective network of the brain focuses on providing several options of engagement  and motivation.

Here the teacher would nee to be sure that all students are excited and interested with what is being learnt.

If a student lacks motivation not much learning will take place.

Teachers should link lessons to a purpose by linking lessons to reality and real life examples.

Interest is bound to the child's personality, culture and upbringing.

Hence it is very important for a teacher to know their students.
