Mosaicism
Mosaicism occurs in a measly 2% of infants with Down syndrome. Although this condition is extremely rare one must also be aware of such a type of Down syndrome. With mosaicism the infant would have two lines of cells, one line would contain the extra chromosome 21 while the rest of the cells would not contain the extra chromosome 21. Children with mosaicism would have very little noticeable characteristics attributed to down syndrome
